last week

Last Saturday was a pretty nice day so we took Kynlie out and played with bubbles and her sidewalk chalk in the front yard. Neil thought the back was too wet from all the rain/snow we have been getting to start putting Kynlie's new swingset together, but while we were out playing we decided that it wasn't too wet and maybe we should get started on it.

About 2 pm, Neil, my parents, his sister Connie and I started assembling Kynlie's awesome swingset- thanks Grandma and Grandpa Moore!!

Sidewalk chalk made great chapstick
We worked until about 7:30, then we decided maybe we should feed our help!
Kynlie with her too big new croc shoes and mom's watch,
we bought her her own pink watch today that she has been wearing all day!
Sunday we were up very early and headed down to Ekalaka to go to church, then on to Moore's cabin for a wonderfully relaxing Easter day. It was so relaxing that I didn't even get a picture of Kynlie in her Easter Dress or with any of her presents- oops! She got a water table from the Easter Bunny that she loves, it was even nice enough last week that we took it outside and played for a while.

Our crew came back on Monday and we put in a few more hours on the swingset, I worked on it most of the week, if it was nice enough outside and Neil and I worked on it when he got home from work. On Thursday, we had it finished, just in time for some more beautiful snow!! (I said that with a hint of sarcasm)  Kynlie likes her swing and the playhouse, she's not too sure about the big slide yet. I can't wait for her and her friends to be able to have so much fun on this thing.

I took care of Pyper on Friday, her babysitter took the day off. It was fun to get to spend a day with her, she's getting such a cute personality.  Neil was going to work all day today, but because of the wonderful blizzard we are having, they didn't have any power at their shop.

Tomorrow afternoon, Kynlie and I are heading to Billings with Neil's sister to do a little shopping! I am looking forward to the little roadtrip, hopefully our roads are good though. My brother-in-law has to go to Billings for work on Monday so my sister and the boys are going with him so we will get to see them too!

Easter Eggs

We dyed Easter eggs with Kynlie tonight. She thought it was pretty neat but she was more interested in getting her little fingers in the cups of dye! I had read somewhere to put the eggs in whisk for kids to put into the dye so we did that and it worked great.
I don't know about this dad
That's awesome!!!

Hands work better to get the eggs out
We've got a mess!
Kynlie was sure to let us know when she ha enough and dumped out 2 of the cups of dye! We had a dyed baby and counter by time she was done.

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter. Safe travels to those of you traveling to be with your loved ones.

Spaghetti

I was feeling like a bad mom yesterday. You all know that everyone has the pictures of their baby, covered head to toe in spaghetti. Kynlie is 18 months old and I didn't have that picture yet! Not only did I not have the picture, Kynlie had never ate spaghetti. Last night I made spaghetti and let her go to town. She was pretty clean when she got done, my floor on the other hand was not!
She did pretty good eating it but definetly didn't eat enough to fill her up.

I feel like a much better mom now that I have the pictures!

Best Friends

Earlier this week, we went over to some great friends' house for supper. It is so sad that we live so close to eachother, yet can go so long without seeing eachother.

We got a couple pictures of our 3 kiddo's together, Kynlie always seems to be the one that won't look at the camera, smile or is crying (when we try to get pics with any of her cousins too)!!

Kynlie 18 months, Jayden 2 1/2, Pyper 6 months
It's kind of neat that all 3 of our kids are right at a year apart, Jayden and Pyper's birthdays are both the end of September and Kynlie's is the beginning of October (which isn't that cool, should be in January!)- gonna make for a lot of parties in a short amount of time!
Best friends for life!

I LOVE her expression here, I get that look alot!

Ugh

After how awful Kynlie sounded last night when she was sleeping, I decided this morning that I was going to take her to Dickinson to the pediatrician. I called to make her an appointment and the receptionist asked me if I was already in town or what! I told her no and she told me that she wanted me to talk to the nurse before we went over because the roads that direction were horrible. The nurse called me back and I told her what was going on with Kynlie and she wanted to ask the doctor if he wanted me to drive on the roads to go see him or not. He said he wanted to see Kynlie from what I described about how she has been.

Every night she coughs so much that she pukes EVERYWHERE, the neb treatments help, sometimes, but not enough. She was done with her antibiotic on Saturday and is still feeling as cruddy as ever. Her temp is usually around 100, but I can break it with Ibuprofen, she's eating and drinking, peeing and pooping, so that's GREAT!

The nurse had a hard time getting the pulse-ox to pick up her saturation's because her hands and feet were so cold from riding in the back seat, it doesn't help that she won't leave her socks on at all. We ended up putting a hot pack on her foot to warm it up so the machine would pick up her readings. Her oxygen level was 97% which was great because she was sounding awful. Every breath she took was wheezy and she couldn't cough whatever it was up.

When the doctor came in, he was very pleased with her oxygen level but was pretty sure that she had pneumonia from listening to her breathe sitting on my lap and from what I had told him. Surprisingly when he listened to her chest- he said her lungs were clear, so he wasn't going to do a chest x-ray. He said she has a sinus infection and the nasal drainage is what is causing all the noise when she breathes. It's also why she's coughing and puking. He said that sadly, the two antibiotics she was on wouldn't do anything for the sinus infection and he gave her a prescription for a different antibiotic that she will have to be on for 10 days. He did say that if she had any bacterial pneumonia that this would clear it up too.

I am ready for the poor baby to feel good again. It's frustrating for Neil and I when she is puking all the time, but I really feel bad for her, it would be so miserable to be puking all the time like she is. Hopefully we are on the mend now and she can be feeling better for Easter.

Still Sick

It's been a long couple of weeks around this house. Kynlie was diagnosed with bronchitis a week ago on Friday and is still sounding awful. She was on amoxicillin for 6 days and wasn't getting any better so I called the doctor again on Thursday and they gave us azithromycin and a nebulizer. She is now done with her antibiotic and is still sounding as awful as she did when I first took her to the doc.

The poor baby will sleep in until 11-11:30, be up from then til about 1, sleep until 4 and be up from 4 til 8. I don't think she gets very restful sleep because she is coughing and puking all night long.

We did go out Friday after the bull sale that I worked at and she did great, she was just super cuddly and slept on my mom  from about 7:00-8:30.

Not much else is going on, we are just trying to stay home as much as possible so Kynlie can sleep when she wants/ needs to  and trying to get her better.

Catching up

We have been busy here again! We did get to play outside a couple days last week, which was AWESOME! Kynlie got a new car and she has a lot of fun riding around in it! We went to a school play and Kynlie loved the music and danced along with it- it was pretty cute!

Friday I took Kynlie into the doctor here because she has had an aweful cough and runny nose. We found out that her cousin has pneumonia and were very happy to find out that she doesn't! She does have bronchitis so she is on antibiotics for that. She is still coughing quite a bit which really stinks because it causes her to puke a lot. She weighed 18 lb 12 oz, which I was happy with, I didn't think she would weigh that much because of how much she has been puking.

Sunday morning Kynlie and I headed to Bismarck for her PT/OT/speech therapy appointment that was on Monday. We got a little shopping in, mostly for Kynlie and stayed with my aunt and cousins so it was nice to visit with them.

Kynlie loves her new car
Kynlie's appointments went good, she is developmentally on track for a 15 month old. Her adjusted age is 14 months so she is slowly getting caught up! They want us to work with her on animal sounds and body parts- which we already do, keep working with walking and feeding her solids. They were very happy with her progress, but they want to see her back in 3 months to make sure she is walking and talking like she should be for her adjusted age.
So does her daddy!
We helped my sister in law at her store again and Kynlie modeled the cute kiddie apron and chef hats.

This week is busy again, going to Miles City tomorrow,  league basketball Thursday and helping with a bull sale on Friday! We are hoping to get our camper fixed this weekend if it's nice out.

Back home

Kynlie and I are back home from our week in Bozeman. We had a blast but it sure is nice to be home again. Wednesday we just hung out at Ken and Gina's. Matthew and I ran to Costco Wed afternoon, Gina stayed home while the babies napped. When we were at Costco, Matthew suckered me into buying him a tub of red vines licorice. I though they always had it at their house and he told me that him and his mom got hungry and ate all of theirs for snack- they had months ago! He led me around a couple of aisles to show me where it was and said they needed it so I bought it for him. Come to find out they had never bought red vines at Costco and hadn't had them in the house forever! I thought it was pretty funny and clever of the little guy! Thursday evening we had a first birthday party in Bozeman for Lincoln who was one on Friday. Thursday night,  I was blessed, yet again, for the third time for those of you who are counting, with the flu! Made for a long drive home on Friday!

Lincoln's first birthday party
Neil came home early on Friday when we got home to take care of Kynlie for me so I could sleep, which was SO nice of him. He took Kynlie to Lincoln's Baker birthday party at my aunt's house and I slept some more. Saturday I woke up feeling better, still tired though.

I have been trying to get caught up on the laundry and housework since I have been home. I FINALLY got our Christmas decorations off our lawn- the have been covered by feet of snow since Christmas!

Kynlie has been doing good with her puking lately. She doesn't really care for the Enfamil powdered formula and doesn't drink nearly as much of it as she did the Similac so I'm not really fond of that but I'm going to keep trying it. I thought I had tried every possible way to get her to take the Zantac, mixing it in with her milk, food, putting it in the straw of her sippie cup, forcing her to take it- which made her puke- I guess I just didn't think that I should lay the syringe full of meds on her high chair tray while I was contemplating how to get the medicine in her and she would pick the syringe up and suck the medicine out of it on her own will. Nope I didn't think of that, but she did it two times today and didn't even make her pucker face or try spitting it out. Little stinker!

This was very random but it is midnight so that's a pretty good excuse! We go to Bismarck on Monday for Kynlie's follow up PT, OT and Speech Therapy appointments, other than that, not much going on this week.
