How many outfits to pack?

Kynlie had another eye appointment yesterday and Dr. G said that everything is looking great. Her right eye looks perfect and he is still watching her left eye close. There was the spot of blood in her eye when she had her laser surgery that prevented him from sewing that spot down. He would like to go in and do surgery on that spot again, but the doctors that he had worked with in Detroit with the Avastin injection are very confident that he won't have to do surgery again. Until he knows for sure, we will continue to see him every 2 weeks. He said if it were up to him, he'd just go sew it down, but that would require to put her out, on the ventilator and paralize her again, he said if the doctors in Detroit are so confident that it doesn't need sewed down, it's not worth it to put Kynlie through the stress of surgery again.
We did get to stop at the Ronald McDonald house and say hi to the wonderful people there that we didn't get to say bye to when we left. It was nice to see them and for them to finally meet Kynlie. I lived there for almost 4 months and for those of you who don't know, I hold the record for the longest stay at the Bismarck Ronald McDonald House!
We left on Thursday night for Kynlie's eye appointment since last time, we cut it pretty close getting there in time. Since we are new at this traveling with a baby thing, we didn't take into consideration that we had to stop and feed her, you know, those things that you have to do with babies! I thought I WAY overpacked for her, 5 outfits, 2 blankets and 7 burp rags, should've been more than we should need for an overnight stay right? Wrong. We bought an outfit at Target for her when we were there because she was on her last outfit Friday morning, she puked on everything she wore. We had to buy more burp rags too as we were using wash cloths in the hotel. Luckily Sarah is so creative that she makes the nursing cover that go with her amazing diaper bags so they can also double as blankets so we had something we could cover the little miss up with that was not covered in puke! I guess we are learnining and if she has to go to Bismarck every 2 weeks, we will get it figured out one of these trips!
We have to go to Dickinson on Tuesday to get her Synagis shot for RSV. My sister has an appointment too so we'll go over together. Wednesday, I have to go back to work, which I am completely dreading. The nice thing is, my sister is keeping Kynlie so I know that she will be in the best hands she can be in. It's going to be so hard to not be with her all day, but I have been off for almost 5 months now so I guess it's time.

4 Months

Yesterday was Kynlie's 4 months birthday. I can't believe that it has been 4 months already. She had been home for 2 weeks yesterday too.
She weighs 5 lb 8.5 oz

Kynlie loves having things to stare at, bright colors and lights are her favorite. She loves cuddling, laying on our chest, I think it's probably from all the Kangaroo Care we did when she was in the NICU. She's not very happy if you put her down or in her swing when she's awake, she'd much rather be held. She loves her swing if she is sleeping though and can actually swing in it without puking up everything that she has ate. She seems to be awake a little more every day too. She was pretty much awake all morning today.

She loves bath time, but squirms around so much she's very hard to hold on to.

As you can see by her shirt, she loves her daddy. They do a lot of cuddling when he gets home from work. He bottle feeds her her night time meds and pretty much holds her from when he gets out of the shower until we go to bed.

Her cousin Matthew has been spending a couple of days with us while his mom is gone and she has been sharing her pickup and horsetrailer with him. As you can see, it has a big load of his cars in it.
He isn't too sure of Baby Kynlie yet, he points to her swing and says "Put Baby Tinley back in dere!" He thinks she interferes with our car driving time. Here she is staring at herself in the mirror on her playmat. She's doing a lot better eating, not throwing up as much and eating a lot more. We have been using different nipples on her bottles an that seems to help her throwing up. We can't hear her gulp every time she swallows, so she isn't getting as much air with every swallow. I have started going 3 1/2 hours between the night feedings so she's more hungry and will nurse and it seems to be working.

It's been a busy week!!

We have had a very busy week around the Moore house. There was something going on every day except Thursday.
Friday was our 5 year anniversary, which was spent going to Bismarck for Kynlie's eye appointment. Her eyes look good, we still have to go back again in 2 weeks but he is almost positive that she won't need to have surgery again. We ate a very romantic lunch at the McDonalds drive through, got our running around done in Bismarck, went and saw Kynlie's nurses, then drove back to Dickinson and had supper with Jordan at Applebees. It was the first time Jordan got to see Kynlie since the weekend she was born. We are definitely amatures going out with a baby, we didn't give ourselves enough time because we spaced out the fact that it takes an hour to feed her, forgot a blanket, the list goes on. I guess we'll learn with time.
Yesterday I was given a beautiful baby shower by my friends and family. We got so spoiled I can't even believe everything that we got.
Here are the girls in the family, my sister Gina and brother's fiance Ashley.
The wonderful hostesses that made the day amazing.

The grandma's and great grandma

My adorable, delicious cake, we saved the top for Kynlie to eat at her first birthday.

The diaper cake made by the hostesses.
It was an amazing shower, I can't thank everyone enough for all the wonderful gifts we got. I felt bad that Kynlie couldn't go, but it's just not worth taking a risk that she might get sick.

The cow is back

Kynlie likes the gangsta look with her hat, if we can't see her, she didn't do it! She is good at fussing and grunting when I am out of the room, then the instant I walk around the corner, it's complete silence and she looks like she has been sleeping soundly. She is also very good at giving me plenty of laundry to do. I think there have been 2 days since she has been home that I have not had a full load of Kynlie's stuff, and we have a front load washer so they are big loads. At least she is going to get good use of all her clothes, blankets and burp rags.
Sterling is getting used to her, still not to her monitor alarm. In the picture, it looks like neither one of them are sure of each other. She hasn't alarmed much, just one apnea spell since we have been home and a few slow and fast heart rates, which are because she is being moved around so the leads don't pick like they are supposed to.

Neil has turned into "SuperDad." I have really missed him being here all day since he went back to work on Monday. He pretty much did everything Kynlie when he was here and I got a lot done around the house.
Since Neil has gone back to work, Kynlie and I have done a lot of cuddling. We have took quite a few naps together, which I know I need to quit or she is going to be a hard keep for my sister when I go back to work.
Thanks to one of these a day,
and three cups of this a day, ( thank you Christina)
the cow is no longer dry. I have been drinking the herbal tea that has fenugreek in it and a beer a day and my milk production is back up. It isn't where it was before but it's defintetly enough to feed Kynlie. Sunday night, she woke me up every time she was ready to eat and ate great. Last night, I had to wake her up and she wouldn't nurse at all. I would try for 10 minutes or so, then just go downstairs and get a bottle. I decided it's not worth me fighting her at 3 am and wasting both of our time so I just try for a bit then bottle feed her. She has been eating great during the day and not puking as much as she had been. She pukes worse when she is bottle fed because she takes such big gulps and has so much air that we can't get it all burped out. Then, with all the air, she gets some good distance when she does vomit. I must say, it's pretty impressive out of something so little.
I did get her weighed today and she is up to 5 lb 5 oz. Not quite the gain I was hoping but she had a lot of nights of not eating well and a lot of puking so hopefully we can get those all resolved and she'll start packing on the ounces!
