New pictures
We had the honor of having Kristin Merwin take Kynlie's pictures this last week and she has them up on her photography blog. Kristin is the amazing seamstress that made Kynlie's going home from the NICU outfit and she made Kynlie some of the adorable headbands she sports as a shower gift. She also blessed us with a photo session. We will definetly be getting the little misses' pictures done by her again, that is, if she is willing to work when she is home on vacation! Thanks Kristin

We have lost all control!
I'm struggling with Kynlie sleeping in her crib, we lay her on her back in the middle and this is how she ends up.
I'm debating on whether to put her bumpers in, she has great head control, but she likes to sleep with her nose close to something. Please leave comments on what you would do, put the bumpers in or put her back in her pack and play. ThanksWednesday, July 14, 2010
9 months old
After our weekend at the reunion, Kynlie and I headed to Bismarck on Monday with my grandma and cousin for Kynlie's doctor and eye appointments.
Kynlie saw Dr. Ocejo on Monday afternoon. She weighs 12 lbs which is in the 25%, was 24" long which is in the 50% and I don't know what her head measurement was but it was under the 25%. He said that she is doing great, her left lung that she had all the problems with when she was in the NICU sounds just as good as the right one. He said I can start feeding her whatever she'll eat and giving her water in a sippy cup. I told him that I could only feed her rice every other day because it would plug her up and he said that my milk is more rich now and less quantity so she wasn't getting enough liquid and that water would take care of it. Starting today, I'll feed her a fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, a meat and veggie for lunch, then a veggie and rice for supper. Dr. Ocejo said that he thinks her birthmark is showing signs of going away too. He also said that she his definetly teething. He said she could munch on teething biscuits and to get her some teething toys to chew on. We don't have to go back to see Dr. Ocejo until October, when Kynlie is a year old.
After Kynlie's appointment we headed to Minot to see my cousin Seth who is still in the hospital. We visited with him and his family for a while then headed back to Bismarck.
Tuesday morning, Kynlie saw Dr. L for her eyes. He said that her eyes look great, there is no scar tissue where the lasering was done and no catarac or any other problems she could've developed. We don't have to go back to see him until November.
As far as what has been going on with Kynlie, she is constantly rolling over both ways and the instant we lay her down for bed, she rolls over to her stomach to sleep. She talks nonstop, has discovered her toes and loves them, is almost sitting on her own, if she would not move nonstop, she could hold herself up with her hands. She is wearing 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes. She needs the 3-6 month for length, but all the pants and shorts she wears have to be 0-3 month for her tiny waist. She is still in size 1 diapers and is a long way from growing out of them yet! She has the cutest nose wrinkling thing she does when she smiles and if she is making funny faces. She HATES her car seat, if she is in it when she's awake, she's crying, which made for a wonderful trip to Bismarck-Minot!! She also started sleeping in her room in her crib instead of in our room in the pack and play. The only thing I don't like about it is that she doesn't cry when she wakes up to eat so I have the monitor on so I can hear her, but the monitor ends up keeping me awake with all the funny noises it makes.

O'Donnell Family Reunion
Kynlie attended her first family reunion last weekend at Camp Needmore in Ekalaka, Mt. It was also her 9 month birthday. There were right around 200 O'Donnells that gathered for a weekend of visiting, great food and a dance.

Funny pics and a funny story
We weighed Kynlie last weekend and she weighed 12 lbs 3 oz.
I think about 10 of those pounds are in her belly, the other 2 are in her cheeks!
Check out my new robe.

The view from behind!
See her hemangioma (birth mark) on her left hip, she has had it since she was in the hospital, it's not growing any more, but it's not getting any smaller. Dr. Ocejo has been watching it because we don't want it to get any bigger. If it has not gone away when she is a year old, we will talk about surgically removing it, but it's a pretty complex surgery because it is just a bunch of blood vessels that make it up so it's hard to keep her from losing a lot of blood.

A funny story about it- when we were in Minot visiting my cousin Seth in the hospital, I stood her up without her diaper on in the waiting room, and my uncle Tom's eyes got huge and he frantically said "Don't shake her, that turd's gonna fall off!" We all started laughing because he thought Kynlie's birthmark was a turd. Later, we remembered that he is color blind so her red birthmark was brown to him and it really could've looked like a turd, which made the story even funnier.
Kynlie's first trip to the zoo
We had to make a last minute trip to Bismarck on Thursday night to get a quote done on our camper. We had already planned on going to Dickinson on for the weekend but weren't going to leave until Friday. We camped in the Walmart parking lot in Bismarck, did a little shopping on Friday, then took Kynlie to the Zoo. Baby Kynlie by a baby moose.

What's that? A bear?
After we were done at the zoo, we ate at Johnny Carinos then headed to Dickinson. We set up the camper at my cousin's house, then went and picked up a friend and went to the circle track races. I was so excited to get pictures of Kynlie at all her firsts this weekend - races, parade, derby and fireworks- and she slept through ALL of them. That is why I only have pictures of her at the zoo!
Kynlie stayed with my cousin, on Saturday night when I went to the Bomshel/Gloriana concert with Jen and Neil went to Armys to watch the UFC fights with Matt. Sunday, the 4th of July, we went to Medora and golfed at the Bully Pulpit golf course with Matt and Jen and Neil's cousin. I didn't golf because I suck really bad and wasn't going to pay that much to golf, so instead, Kynlie and I paid $20 to ride along in the cart!
