Kynlie had another eye appointment yesterday and Dr. G said that everything is looking great. Her right eye looks perfect and he is still watching her left eye close. There was the spot of blood in her eye when she had her laser surgery that prevented him from sewing that spot down. He would like to go in and do surgery on that spot again, but the doctors that he had worked with in Detroit with the Avastin injection are very confident that he won't have to do surgery again. Until he knows for sure, we will continue to see him every 2 weeks. He said if it were up to him, he'd just go sew it down, but that would require to put her out, on the ventilator and paralize her again, he said if the doctors in Detroit are so confident that it doesn't need sewed down, it's not worth it to put Kynlie through the stress of surgery again.
We did get to stop at the Ronald McDonald house and say hi to the wonderful people there that we didn't get to say bye to when we left. It was nice to see them and for them to finally meet Kynlie. I lived there for almost 4 months and for those of you who don't know, I hold the record for the longest stay at the Bismarck Ronald McDonald House!
We left on Thursday night for Kynlie's eye appointment since last time, we cut it pretty close getting there in time. Since we are new at this traveling with a baby thing, we didn't take into consideration that we had to stop and feed her, you know, those things that you have to do with babies! I thought I WAY overpacked for her, 5 outfits, 2 blankets and 7 burp rags, should've been more than we should need for an overnight stay right? Wrong. We bought an outfit at Target for her when we were there because she was on her last outfit Friday morning, she puked on everything she wore. We had to buy more burp rags too as we were using wash cloths in the hotel. Luckily Sarah is so creative that she makes the nursing cover that go with her amazing diaper bags so they can also double as blankets so we had something we could cover the little miss up with that was not covered in puke! I guess we are learnining and if she has to go to Bismarck every 2 weeks, we will get it figured out one of these trips!
We have to go to Dickinson on Tuesday to get her Synagis shot for RSV. My sister has an appointment too so we'll go over together. Wednesday, I have to go back to work, which I am completely dreading. The nice thing is, my sister is keeping Kynlie so I know that she will be in the best hands she can be in. It's going to be so hard to not be with her all day, but I have been off for almost 5 months now so I guess it's time.
