11 Months

Today is Miss Kynlie's 11 month birthday- I can't believe she is almost a year old. I have some pictures on my camera, which is now officially drowned, from our boating trip in July. It won't turn on at all (insert tears here). These pictures are from last Thursday, but they are the most recent ones I have.

Here is a blurry cell phone video of Kynlie going crazy in her jumperoo, she LOVES that thing.

Kynlie has changed a lot this last month. She rolls constantly- in the bath tub, when I am changing her diaper, dressing her, holding her, she's really fun to dress now! She is going to be crawling before too long, she gets herself up on all fours when she is playing on the floor.

If she isn't rolling, she's jumping. In her jumperoo, on my lap, when I am holding her standing up, no matter where we are, she's trying to jump. She gets her legs and her arms going and her little face lights up, it's so adorable.

She wears mostly 3-6 month clothes, a lot of 0-3 month bottoms although the 3-6 month are starting to fit now. She has a couple 6-9 month outfits that fit her, we just have to try everything on, I have all 3 sizes in her closet and it's hit or miss what fits. She is very long and skinny. Since she hasn't had to go to the doctor for 2 months, she hasn't been measured or weighed. I weighed her on our scale and it said 15 lbs so she's somewhere around there. I am guessing she is 26-27" long. She is STILL in size 1 diapers and is STILL going to be in them for a long time because the tabs STILL overlap on the front! She has 3 pairs of shoes now, that if she has the right socks on, kind of stay on her feet. She has the longest skinniest feet.

She has 2 teeth on the bottom and 2 on top, and she loves to chew on everything. She has gotten really good at feeding herself snacks. I tried feeding her a stage 3 meal yesterday because Walmart in Sheridan and Miles City were both out of  Stage 2 meat meals. It was a lasagna in meat sauce and there were little chunks of noodles, I don't  know if she didn't chew them up or if it was that bad, but she ate a couple bites and puked it all up. Yummy! Other than the lasagna, she eats anything, fruits, veggies, meats, popcorn. She is not a picky eater at all, thank goodness. She is eating 3 meals a day and still nursing every 4-5 hours.

She still takes 2 or 3 naps a day and is getting a lot better about napping in her crib. Most night she sleeps through the night, gets up at 6 or 7 to eat, then will sleep to 8 or 8:30. She wakes me up in the morning with the sweetest words and smiles, it's the best way in the world to start out the day.

She is such a great baby, always happy, unless she's tired, but she's getting a lot better about not being crabby when she's tired. Just depends on the day! She is a little ham, talking, sassing and smiling, she loves kisses on her chubby cheeks, raspberries on her belly and cuddling with mommy.

I can't believe that her next milestone post will be her first birthday. Neil and I were watching videos last week of when she was in the NICU, over 6 weeks old and still under 2 pounds. It's hard to imagine that she was ever so small. She has come such a long way and we are so lucky that she is PERFECT.

The last year flew by, even when it was a long, long, looooong year. I am looking forward to planning a very special party for this little miracle, she worked hard to make it to where she is now and she deserves the best!

Fallon County Fair

Last weekend was the Fallon County Fair, in Baker. We took in all the festivities, starting Thursday evening with the Variety Show. Friday, Kynlie and I wandered over and watched a little of the livestock shows, they had a free stage with some sisters that were amazing singers and some dirt bike trials riders that were fun to watch. Friday evening we went to the ATV rodeo and a comedian. Saturday morning we watched the parade, Kynlie wasn't too fond of the race cars burning out in front of us and revving their engines. We went to the rodeo Saturday afternoon and Chris Young and LoCash Cowboys put on an awesome concert Saturday evening. Sunday, Kynlie and I went to another rodeo- it was "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" so we wore pink shirts. Kynlie has plenty of pink shirts, but I had to borrow one!! Sunday evening was the highlight of the fair for us. Neil does the Demolition Derby.

I made Kynlie a little onesie that says "Dad's Biggest Fan" on the front, then on the back it says "B-34" and I sewed some ruffles on the butt.

She thinks her daddy's shirt is pretty funny.

Neil did great in the derby, they put a flag in the middle of the arena and the first person to hit it gets some money, he got the flag. He won his heat and did amazing in the championship heat. He didn't win, he broke his drive line, but he got second and put on one hell of a show.

The fair was a great time, but I sure am glad it is over! Kynlie was perfect the whole weekend for being drug around to everything.

Busy times

We have been very busy this month, doing nothing of great importance, just seems like it's been go, go, go.

Kynlie has been trying a lot more foods lately. My mom was eating some corn on the cob and Kynlie grabbed it and put it to her mouth and tried eating it. I gave her some of the Gerber yogurt melts, she's not quite sure about them but she keeps eating them. My dad bought her a snow cone at the fair last weekend and she wasn't fond of the ice, but kept opening her mouth to eat more, then would make the funniest face when the ice got in her mouth. We found at the derby that she LOVES popcorn, she was trying to grab the whole pieces out of my hand before I could get the kernels bit off for her.
I got her a jumperoo when I went to Bismarck with a friend for the weekend. It's her new favorite thing to do. She jumps like a mad woman and plays with all the toys on it. It's pretty neat, it's a Baby Einstein one and there is a little piano on it that is different shapes and colors. You can put the settings on music, piano or it will say the shape and color in English, Spanish and French.

Kynlie has found her tongue and this is how she looks most of the time now. She makes funny faces with her tongue sticking out of her mouth. I was eating a piece of pie at the fair last weekend and she looked like she was licking her lips, wanting a piece.

She is still not crawling but is getting good at scooting and rolling to get where she wants to go. I'm in no hurry for her to crawl because I'm not going to be able to take my eyes off her because she is going to be into everything. She still only has 2 teeth, but there are at least 2 more trying to poke through.

10 Months

My baby girl is 10 months old today. I can't believe that she is almost a year old. I told Neil the other day that I thought that we should just celebrate her birthday in January, when it should be, there is no way that she is almost one! Her adjusted age is 6 months old and she is between there and 10 months for her milestones.

Sterling has taken a liking to here, wherever she is laying, he is right beside her. She was really watching him eat his treat.

She is a BUSY little girl. She never stops moving unless she is sound asleep. She rolls over to get where she needs to go, but she scoots a little too because I have laid her down facing one direction and gone back a minute later and she is facing a completely different direction.
She has 2 teeth poking through on the bottom and tries to put anything and everything she can get her hands on in her mouth. She likes the teething biscuits, yogurt melts, watermelon and grapes and the only baby food she doesn't like is chicken and noodles. She eats 3 meals a day, fruit and oatmeal in the morning, meat and veggie at lunch, then a fruit and rice after her afternoon nap.

"What is this thing?" Kynlie has started to notice everything that goes on around her and she had obviously never seen a pineapple before this picture! She watches between conversations, she really watches when people are eating, which makes me feel bad eating in front of her, she follows Sterling when he is walking by her and when we were camping last weekend, she was laying in the middle of the bed in the camper, watching the leaves blow outside the window. It is amazing watching her watch things because she was 24 hours away from possible blindness.

She is wearing 3-6 month clothes finally! At least she gets a lot of use out of all her clothes. We have to mix and match most outfits because she is so tiny on bottom that none of the pants that go with shirts will fit her. She has some 3-6 month tops that are getting too short for her, and the bottoms are 2x too wide for her! She is still in size 1 diapers and will be for a long time still, the tabs still overlap in the front when we put her diapers on.

She reaches for everything she gets in her sights, has the cutest giggle in the world and giggles at pretty much everything. She is very much a drama queen and can go from happy to sad in no time flat. She still has a pretty pathetic sad lip that I just can't help but laugh when she does it.

She gets cross eyed when she is tired, like she is in the picture above. She usually goes to bed at about 8:30, eats at 3, 6 and sleeps in til 8. Some days she will take a nap in her crib, some days I have to lay beside her in bed and nurse her to sleep, then sneak out of bed and hope I don't wake her up, some days she naps in my arms. I figure that as long as she will sleep in her bed at night, I will hold her during the day, she won't want me to hold her forever!

Today, she sat up by herself in the grass for a short bit. She could sit by herself if she wasn't so squirmy, she holds herself up with her hands but then has to try to grab something. She babbles all day long, sometimes super sweet words, sometime super sassy words.

I love this baby more than I ever thought was possible, I love to wake up to her sweet coos and smiles, to play and giggle with her during the day and to kiss her chubby cheeks when I lay her down at night.

Phase 10

Kynlie got to play in the sand for the first time when we went camping at Bowman Haley the first of August. She thought the stuff was pretty cool.

Splash, splash

My mom had this little inflatable pool she had bought when my nephew was a baby so I asked her to bring it in yesterday since it was so beautiful outside.

Kynlie loved it. She splashed and giggled, scrunched up her nose when she splashed herself in the face and giggled some more.

My knees got sore from kneeling on the patio, so I went in and got my suit on and sat with her to hold her up. I'm sure it was quite the site!

I have a feeling that Kynlie and I will spend quite a few hours the rest of the summer out in her little pool.

Swimming is very exhausting though!

Ride em Cowgirl

I'm struggling with Kynlie sleeping in her crib, we lay her on her back in the middle and this is how she ends up.

I'm debating on whether to put her bumpers in, she has great head control, but she likes to sleep with her nose close to something. Please leave comments on what you would do, put the bumpers in or put her back in her pack and play. Thanks

9 months old

After our weekend at the reunion, Kynlie and I headed to Bismarck on Monday with my grandma and cousin for Kynlie's doctor and eye appointments.
Kynlie saw Dr. Ocejo on Monday afternoon. She weighs 12 lbs which is in the 25%, was 24" long which is in the 50% and I don't know what her head measurement was but it was under the 25%. He said that she is doing great, her left lung that she had all the problems with when she was in the NICU sounds just as good as the right one. He said I can start feeding her whatever she'll eat and giving her water in a sippy cup. I told him that I could only feed her rice every other day because it would plug her up and he said that my milk is more rich now and less quantity so she wasn't getting enough liquid and that water would take care of it. Starting today, I'll feed her a fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, a meat and veggie for lunch, then a veggie and rice for supper. Dr. Ocejo said that he thinks her birthmark is showing signs of going away too. He also said that she his definetly teething. He said she could munch on teething biscuits and to get her some teething toys to chew on. We don't have to go back to see Dr. Ocejo until October, when Kynlie is a year old.
After Kynlie's appointment we headed to Minot to see my cousin Seth who is still in the hospital. We visited with him and his family for a while then headed back to Bismarck.
Tuesday morning, Kynlie saw Dr. L for her eyes. He said that her eyes look great, there is no scar tissue where the lasering was done and no catarac or any other problems she could've developed. We don't have to go back to see him until November.
As far as what has been going on with Kynlie, she is constantly rolling over both ways and the instant we lay her down for bed, she rolls over to her stomach to sleep. She talks nonstop, has discovered her toes and loves them, is almost sitting on her own, if she would not move nonstop, she could hold herself up with her hands. She is wearing 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes. She needs the 3-6 month for length, but all the pants and shorts she wears have to be 0-3 month for her tiny waist. She is still in size 1 diapers and is a long way from growing out of them yet! She has the cutest nose wrinkling thing she does when she smiles and if she is making funny faces. She HATES her car seat, if she is in it when she's awake, she's crying, which made for a wonderful trip to Bismarck-Minot!! She also started sleeping in her room in her crib instead of in our room in the pack and play. The only thing I don't like about it is that she doesn't cry when she wakes up to eat so I have the monitor on so I can hear her, but the monitor ends up keeping me awake with all the funny noises it makes.
