Remodel project 90% done

Here are the changes that have been made since we started our remodel project. The tile is done on the stairs going down from the new living room. The carpet is in, painting done, recessed can lighting in and we are moved down there. I still have to get all the pictures hung and find some curtains. The detail in the tile. I love it!

Looking from the south wall, upstairs is the new dining room and the kitchen. To the left is the laundry room and a bathroom that have both been redone since we moved in and a bedroom. We still have some trim work around the tile and in the far right corner by the stairs is going to be the entertainment center, it is getting built today.
Looking down to the living room from the dining room. I honestly have to say that the room is smaller than I thought once we got all our furniture down there. What I had visioned was the couch on the south wall with end tables on either side, then chairs on either side of them, in a "U"shape. It didn't quite work, but we are looking at mabye getting a sectional couch and that would fill the room a lot better.

The old dining room is now storing the entertainment center from the old living room and the couch that was downstairs. The plan is to buy a tall 4 place table and that room will be used a s a little breakfast nook. On a side note, all our furniture is for sale along with the 2 year old 42" Polaroid tv. The entertainment center is solid oak, Montana made, the tv fits perfectly inside, so if someone takes both, we'll sell it cheaper. All the furniture downstairs is also for sale, 2 blue recliners and a blue recliner couch. Everything is in great condition. The new dining room. All this room got was a fresh coat of paint and the uppercase living words. The plan is to some day buy a hutch and buffet for the dining room, so for now it looks kind of empty. I also have to do some different lighting in here, what I am thinking is of taking the light

out of the kitchen and putting it in here and putting recessed cans in the kitchen. It should be a fairly easy job as the ceiling is open above that floor. You can see that the crown molding is a couple inches below the ceiling, there are rope lights in it so it gives a really pretty effect when it is dark out.

6 months

I can't believe it, my baby girl is 6 months old today. Her adjusted age is 9 weeks and that's how long we have been home with her.

Sorry for the blurriness, but you can see how active she is by how hard it is to get a picture of her.

Here's what Kynlie is up to:

• She weighs 8 lb 3 oz. She is gaining about an ounce a day.
• Eats 4 oz when she is bottle fed.
• Sleeps through the night, she wakes up around 5 to eat, then sleeps until 9.
• Holds her head up very well.
• Sits in her Bumbo chair and is very proud of herself that she can.
• Smiles and coos a lot. Mostly in the morning and evening.
• Is still wearing newborn diapers.
• Wears some 0-3 month clothes and some newborn clothes still fit her.
• Holds herself up on her elbows during tummy time.
• Tracks objects very well with her eyes.
• Can hold all her weight standing, just needs support for balance.
• Still sleeps in her vibratey chair, aka, her bed, at night (to prevent puking).
• Is puking significantly less after eating, just needs to be kept upright.
• Has the cutest pouty lip and fake sad cry.
• Is a great traveler, just grunts when we slow down for towns and cries at stop lights.
• Loves being carried in the Moby wrap.
• Is very much a daddy's girl already.
• Only wears her apnea monitor at night, and that's just because we paid for it for the month and don't have to go back to Bismarck until the 26th.
• Is off all medications, just gets 1 ml of Vitamin D in her bottle and will be on as long as she is getting breast milk.
• She is a great baby, she just wants her stomach full and prefers to be in someone's arms.

I have to say that I have the best job in the world being able to stay at home with Kynlie. We haven't been home much because it's been so busy the past few weeks here, but I am working on getting into a routine with Kynlie. I am really looking forward to it being nice enough out to go on walks with her and just be able to be outside with her, the wind really puts a damper on that for now.

My Daddy Dresses Me

I really wish I had thought about doing this post earlier because I missed some very unique outfits, but here are some of Kynlie's outfits that her daddy thought looked good. Kynlie is just lucky that she is already cute so it doesn't matter what she wears. I do have to say that I do appreciate Neil dressing Kynlie though, this is not a complaining post, just thought everyone might like a chuckle.

Flowers go together right, it doesn't matter what color they are.

So if flowers go together no matter what the color, so do hearts right? I can see how he might have thought this one would match, but there's just something about it that doesn't and I can't quite figure out what it is.

No matter what her daddy dresses her in, Kynlie is already a daddy's girl and I'm sure she always will be.

Happy Easter

The Easter bunny visited Kynlie this morning. Don't be fooled, the Reeses peanut butter eggs were left for mom & dad! She got a puppy that knows her name and some of her daddy's favorite books to read to her, the Berenstein Bears Easter books.

She also really loves sitting in her Bumbo chair. We do have to put a blanket on one side of her because she isn't really big enough to sit in it. This was her watching me pull staples out of the stairs when we had the carpet tore up.

Kynlie got to meet a very special little boy on Thursday. Her cousin Lincoln James Phillips was born at 11:45 am, weighing 7 lb and was 19 1/2" long. Kynlie is about a pound bigger than Lincoln is and probably about 1" longer. She is also almost 6 months older than he is! It is going to be fun watching these two grow up together and raise mischief. Welcome to the world Lincoln.
We had a great Easter, we went to church then went down to Neil's parent's cabin in the Long Pines. It was very laid back and quiet, except for Sterling snacking on a dead deer carcass acrosst he road, then coming back in and puking it up. He had to get a bath when we got home.

We hope everyone had a great Easter and remembered the reason for the celebration.

One room done

We have been working on the house again this week, Thursday, Neil grouted the tile, Friday and Saturday I painted. Kynlie was not very cooperative yesterday though so most of my painting was done with her in my arm. Here are pictures of the living room, that will be the dining room when the carpet is installed downstairs. It's still a mess but you get the picture.

After I got done painting yesterday, Kynlie and I went to church in Marmarth with a friend. She definetly made her presence known. She needed to eat at 5 when church started so I thought it would work out perfect, we'd set in the back and I'd start feeding her right away. Well, it was the Palm Sunday service so Father had everyone stand facing the back of the church at the begining of the service. I kept Kynlie quiet, but when I finally could set down to feed her, she was so worked up that I knew I wasn't going to get her fed without giving the guy sitting next to us a show. Also, as Father walked by to go to the front of the church, her monitor beeped loose lead, which was very very loud. We went to the entryway and I fed her, then when we went back in, she got the hiccups, very loud hiccups! Then she wanted to start being chatty and was talking. It was pretty interesting venturing out with her. I am excited though that sickness season is almost over and we will be able to start taking her more places with us.
