We survived

The girls and I survived our first weekend without daddy. He left Friday afternoon to go back to the Bighorn Mountains to go snowmobiling for the weekend. Kynlie wasn't feeling too great on Friday so I tried getting her in to see the doctor but they were booked solid, she's got an aweful cough and a snot nose. The girls and I went over to Plevna with my parents for the fish buffet and when we were there, I noticed that Kynlie felt warm. I checked her temp when we got home and it was 101.8. I gave her some tylenol, gave her a bath and put her to bed. I went and checked her again a few hours later and her temp had not dropped so I needed to give her more Tylenol so I had to wake her up. Remember a few posts back when we found out that a couple hours of sleep was enough to keep a two year old going for a lot more hours, well, she was up all night! I felt so bad for her, she was in bed with me and she kept coughing and blowing her nose and wimpering all night. She was trying to go to sleep, she was just too miserable.
She's a big girl now!
Saturday morning, my dad had offered to come stay with Locklyn so Kynlie and I could go have a coffee at Lawlers, but we had to take a rain check because Kynlie was too sick and tired. He did come in in the afternoon to stay with Kynlie so I could go help with my cousin's baby shower. The shower was beautiful and there was a great turnout considering the weather was not very nice. Baby Dax is adorable and he got super spoiled.
Trying on daddy's helmet
I spent Saturday night snuggling with my girls and reading books, it was amazing! Kynlie's temperature was still high Saturday so she got more tylenol and ended up sleeping with me again. At least last night, she did sleep, not good, but she slept.
Kynlie has enough hair for pig tails now!
Neil has been giving Kynlie showers and she comes down with her hair fixed different every night, it is so cute! She saw her pretties on my dresser and wanted pig tails again the other morning and she is pretty proud of them!
Snuggling with daddy
Today we just hung out, playing, reading, doing puzzles. Kynlie sang, a lot. She is turning into quite the singer these days, and she will flip through songs on my phone until she finds the one she wants and start singing along with it, she doesn't get the words but she is pretty good with the tune!
Smiley Girl
Neil got home about 3:30 this afternoon and we have just been relaxing, happy to be together again! It is amazing how much help he is when he is here, we sure did miss him!
Cool kid
I am hoping I can get Kynlie into the doctor tomorrow here, if not we will probably have to go to Dickinson. She ran a fever all day today and the poor kid can't even talk because her throat is so sore. Her already squeaky voice is really, really squeaky, her cry and whine are even pathetic. Locklyn still has her little cough too, but hers is nothing like Kynlie's so I am not as worried about her.

What our girls are up to

Little Miss Locklyn is smiling and cooing up a storm these days! She can hold her head up very well, still loves her pacifier and nursing. She is sleeping through the night, growing out of her 0-3 month clothes, wearing size 1 diapers and is the sweetest, cuddliest baby ever.
Locklyn is all smiles

Happy to be out of her baptism dress.

The only way Kynlie can have pig tails!
Miss Kynlie is growing and learning new things every day! She sings "twinkle twinkle" all day, loves dancing, jabbering and making sure Locklyn has everything she needs.
Our little ballerina
She has recently found her love for dressing up, drawing and painting  and always being there to help mommy with whatever she needs. She loves having her picture taken and if she sees a camera she is saying "Cheese." She is obsessed with our ipod/pad/phones, so much that we have had a couple of failed interventions and she has her own sign language word for it! She flips through them and does things on them that would be nice to know how to do, but Neil and I can't figure out how she does it!
Torn between being 5 months old and being 18 years old
Her vocabulary is improving daily, but we are still going to speech weekly. She is in 2T clothes, but some of her shirts are getting to small, she can still wear 18 month pants, but they are getting a little short. She is just starting to wear size 4 diapers, and starting to grow out of size 5 shoes. Her feet have grown 4 sizes since this fall!
Our little brainiac sitting in the bumbo
She is loving all the new "baby" toys I am getting out, she thinks its like Christmas, getting new toys to play with and new chairs to sit in, like the bumbo that is now Kynlie's thinking chair!
We love our girls SOoo much, yes, at times I want to pull my hair out, but the good  by far outweighs the bad and I love being able to spend every day with our beautiful babies!

Locklyn's Baptism

Sunday, February 19, 2012, we got Locklyn baptized at St. John's Catholic Church in Baker. My brother and Neil's sister were her Godparents. She was baptized by Fr. Thomas Tobin, the same priest that baptized me 28 years ago!

Kynlie was having a blast running up and down the
aisle while we were taking pictures

After we took pictures, we invited everyone over to the house for brunch and cake. It was a beautiful day and we are very thankful for everyone that was able to share it with us.

Love Day

Mommy's little love bugs

Neil had a nice surprise for me, he planned an evening out for supper for Valentine's Day. We went to Thee Garage and had a great meal and his dad came over and stayed home with the girls. I got a dozen beautiful red roses and lots of hugs and kisses from these two sweeties at home!
I took Locklyn in to the doctor this morning as her right eye has been watery and goopy since Wednesday and it turns out that she has a clogged tear duct. I was given some antibiotic eye drops in case there is any type of infetion in it. The little chunker weighed 11 lb 15 oz! It blows my mind every time I see the scale how much she gains, she is just so opposite of how Kynlie was. With Kynlie we were lucky for 1/2 lb a month and Locklyn is doubling that in a week!! She's got some adorable chubby thighs with little rolls and she's got a little roll on her arm. I just love to squeeze her chub! She has also slept through the night two nights this week, I could definetly get used to that!
I am the luckiest lady around to have such a great hubby and two great kids! We hope everyone had a very happy Valentine's Day

6 Weeks

We got back on Monday from our Super Bowl adventure, had Tuesday at home, then took off for Dickinson for Locklyn's 6 week checkup and Kynlie's speech appointments.

Locklyn weighs 10 lb 5 oz and was 22" long. Both are between the 50-75% on the growth chart. Dr O said she looks perfect, keep up with what we are doing and come back in 2 months! She is smiling a lot and starting to coo. She is still in 0-3 month clothes and we are squeezing her chubby legs into the last of the newborn diapers! She is eating every 2-3 hours during the day and every 5-6 hours at night. She is still in the bassinet in our room and will be until she isn't getting up at all. She continues to be the easiest baby, she's pretty laid back and goes right along with the flow!

Kynlie's speech is improving daily, it has been so worth it taking her to Dickinson for her appointments! Tuesday, she was acting up during her appointment, whining to me and not listening to Valerie. I threatened to leave the room because I knew Kynlie wouldn't whine to Valerie and Kynlie kept it up with me so Valerie and I talked it over and she said she would be willing to try one-on-one with Kynlie. I left and the whining instantly stopped! Little Stinker! At the end of the appointment, Valerie came out and said that when I left, Kynlie did everything asked of her perfectly. From now on, Valerie will come out and get Kynlie, the two of them will do her appointment, then when there are 5-10 minutes left, I will go back and Valerie can tell me what they worked on and what she wants us to work on at home.

We are home today, then tomorrow we are headed to Dayton, WY to visit my brother and sister-in-law. Neil  and Jordan are going snowmobiling and Ashley and I are getting Massages!! Our poor kids don't ever get a chance to stay home! Seems like we are always on the go!

Have baby will travel

Our trip started out with an already planned trip to Las Vegas for a hunting convention Neil's dad goes to every year.  We flew out of Billings Thursday night and went to our hotel, the New York New York. Friday we went to the convention and wandered around there all day.

Neil and his brother are both Giant's fans so when they won their conference championship, they jokingly said to eachother- lets go to the Super Bowl! Well, the joke ended up serious and we got tickets and added a little bonus trip onto our Vegas trip!

Saturday morning, we got up, ate breakfast, re-packed our bags to catch our flight to Indianapolis . We were supposed to fly out at 1:30 but when we got to the airport, they told us that our connecting flight in Dallas wasn't going to work. We would arrive in Dallas after the other flight already left. They switched airlines on us the plane we needed to catch left in 45 minutes. We ran to security which usually takes a while because Linda's faux knees set the metal detectors off. I had Locklyn in the sling and walked through and the security guy stopped me too. Linda and I both ended up getting patted down, which seemed like it took FOREVER! We got to our gate just as they were shutting the doors, thankfully  that plane was already running 10 minutes behind or we would've missed that flight too!!

We got re-routed to Atlanta so we flew in there, grabbed supper on the run and boarded our next plane to Indianapolis. We got our rental car and headed to our hotel, which was an hour out of Indy- it was the only one we could get!

We woke up early Sunday morning to head back into Indy as there was so much we wanted to see in a short amount of time. Indianpolis had converted the whole downtown area into Super Bowl Village. City blocks of Super Bowl fun and excitement. There was a zip line, huge ice sculptures, anything and everything you could think of! We wandered around there, then headed in to get to our seats
Headed to the game
The gates opened at 2:30 and the game started at 6:30 so we watched the teams warm up and just soaked up the excitement of being at the Super Bowl.
The coin flip
The Halftime Show was AMAZING! I was so shocked to see all the negative comments about it after the game. Madonna put on a great show and kept us watching and singing along the whole time!
MADONNA
It was an awesome game, keeping us wondering who was going to win until the very last second. Thankfully, the Giants won so we had some happy travelers on the way home!
GIANTS WIN!!!
Yes, we took Locklyn to the game, she had ear protection that consisted of cotton balls, burp rags and diapers! I would've rather not taken her, but we are kind of attached at the nipple for the next year or so! Kynlie stayed home with my parents, we had already planned on leaving her home for the Vegas trip so it worked out that she could just stay a day longer with mom & dad.

Locklyn's first Super Bowl! (probably her last too:)
Locklyn was PERFECT the whole trip! I know a lot of people think we are crazy just for taking her to Vegas but besides feeding her every 3 hours and changing diapers, we didn't even notice she was there. This is the easiest time to travel with kids I think! She slept through the whole game, just waking up to eat once. She was wanting to wake up towards the end of the game so I just kept nursing her so she wouldn't wake up, then when it had quieted down a big, I let her wake up.

After the game, we headed to the car to go to our next hotel, this time in Indy, and this is where things got interesting! The hotel looked dumpy from the outside, but Neil went in and checked us in. We walked up to our room, and with every step, I grew more and more hesitant about staying there. First of all, it had a stench to it, an undescribable stench. The walls and floors in the hallway were filthy, wallpaper was peeling off the walls and they were splattered with nastiness everywhere you looked. We opened the door to the room, only to find more nastiness! There were cigarette butts on the floor, the smell intensified, light bulbs were missing, it honestly looked like something that should be rented by the hour! We talked it over and decided that none of us were comfortable staying there and definetly not with a 5 week old baby!

We packed all our stuff back to the van and went to check it back in at the car rental place and go to the airport. We didn't fly out until 10 am, but the floor at the airport was way more sanitary than anything in that nasty hotel. We breezed through security, being the only people at the airport at 3 am! They had shut down all flights through Indy during the game to prevent any 9-11 type of incidents.
Everyone dozed on and off throughout the day, then we finally boarded our plane from Indy to Boston, yes, Boston. Just a little backtracking. We had a short layover in Boston, then flew to Denver, then to Billings. We got into Billings at 8:30 pm, got our luggage and headed for the last leg of our terribly long trip! It was hard for any of us to stay awake to drive home, but we made it!

Really, the only enjoyable part of our trip was the Super Bowl, over half of our time was spent traveling and no quality time was spent in any one location! It is definetly a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives!
